在净杆比洞赛或比杆赛中如何决定平局？高尔夫规则第33-6条中要求竞赛委员会在比赛开始之前宣布出现并列时决定名次的方式。简单说，比洞赛的平局不应以比杆赛的形式决定，比杆赛的平局也不应以比洞赛的形式决定。根据高尔夫规则附属规则I“比赛条件”部分，美国高尔夫球协会（USGA）提出了一些建议，举例说明如下。

近期亚洲业余锦标赛（AAC）的时候，在分数实时更新方面遇上了困难，于是便有了本文关于如何做好赛事期间实时分数更新的一些想法和总结。

AAC成绩方面使用的是丹麦的一个网上成绩系统叫golfbox，不知道是否和国内的高尔夫频道的golfbox同属一公司。本身golfbox是一个很成熟的高尔夫分数系统，包括了每洞成绩录入更新、成绩排名实时更新、领先榜、自动输出成绩和排组表，同时也支持球手逐洞成绩查询，数据统计（柏忌、柏和小鸟次数），更加重要的是，它支持数据的输出。

If a junior competition is planned, the conditions should state the age limit and the date on which a player must be under that limit in order to be eligible. For example, to be eligible to participate in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, a player must not have reached his 18th birthday by the last day of the Championship.

The USGA receives hundreds of requests each year for information on various aspects of the game of golf. One of the most frequent requests is for information on how to conduct a competition. A number of USGA publications deal with the subject, but not extensively. This booklet covers in depth all aspects except for peripheral matters such as registration of players, transportation service, providing locker facilities, arranging accommodations, securing adequate caddies, food service, sale of admission tickets, production of a program and arranging for spectator parking.

规则33-6要求赛事委员会提前公布如果决定比洞赛和比杆赛的并列名次，这些决定必须通过比赛条件提前公布。

高尔夫规则33-3声明“赛事委员会必须为比赛确定开球时间，并且在比杆赛的时候，为球员安排组别”，但是这并不排除赛事委员会在比杆赛和比洞赛时允许球员自行决定出发时间，以及在比杆赛时自行决定自己的组别。但是如果是在某一个时间精确的日期举办，一般不允许球员自行安排；若比赛只是要求在某个时间之前完成（长期的比赛），一般建议让球员自行决定。
